Surface Gravure Ink (SG)
SG Ink series is a polyamide based ink for gravure presses, and provides high gloss , high color strength. It exhibits good freezing resistance, good adhesion, can be printed on diferrent films.
Recommended substrate:
1- Treat LDPE, PP, Polyolefin
2- Celloluse coated film
3- Paper, Aluminum foil, Metallized PVC
Characteristics:
1- Suitable for the film surface printing application, which requires low viscosity and high gloss, high color strengh.
2- Excellent flexibility and adhesion.
3- Good scratch and scuff resistance.
4- Freezing and water resistance.
5- No odor, suitable for common food packaging
6- Good anti-blocking performance, even under pressure.
7- Good printability and stability.
Presses:
It can be applied on different printing speed from 20m/min to 150m/min, and different cylinder depth (from 10 micron to 50 micron).
Standard colors:
We provide the whole series ink, and 15 colors are available. Most of colors are made from one single pigment, which enables the customer to get what they wanted.

Reducer:
Reducer need to be added before printing. Although reducers are available on the market, we strongly recommend that SG solvent (Toluene: 60/ IPA: 30/ Ethyl Acetate:10) from our company to be use to achieve best printing effect. Depends on the printing condition, the general printing viscosity as following. White ink: 17 – 20 sec/zahn cup 2/25oC; Color ink: 19 – 22 sec/zahn cup 2/25oC.
Wrong reducer may affect the ink performance and cause a poor gloss, poor scratch and scuff resistance, even damage the doctor blade and cylinders.
Additive:
According to the different situation, following additive can be added.
(R11) abrasion and adhesion promoter: can be added at a volume 10% for a low surface tension film.
(A213) defoamer can be added at a volume 1%.
Note:
1- SG ink series cannot be used for the applications that need high heat resistance, oil and grease resistance.
2- When under higher humidity (>90%), Whiteness may appear on the printed ink. To avoid this, higher oven temperature is needed and also need to add some low evaporation solvent.
3- The ink will gel under low temperature, but it can come back when using hot water or vapor to heat ink without sacrificing the performance. Avoid heating the ink directly with fire, which may cause fire.
4- SG ink series cannot be heat sealed.
